Privacy Policy

Last updated: 22 July 2026

This policy is provided in English as the authoritative version.

Foxy ("we", "the app") is a free tool that helps people cook with the ingredients they already have, in order to reduce food waste. This page explains what information the app stores and why.

What we store on your device

We use your browser's local storage (not tracking cookies, and not shared with any advertiser) to remember things you've explicitly set up, so you don't have to re-enter them every visit:

None of this is linked to your name, email, or any other identifying information, and none of it is sold or shared with advertisers.

What we store to power community statistics

When you confirm you've cooked a suggested recipe and rate it, we save an anonymous record (the estimated food, CO₂, and water saved, and your star rating) to show the community's collective impact. These records are not linked to your identity and cannot be traced back to you individually.

We also log the ingredients people enter, in anonymous, aggregate form only, to understand which foods are most commonly left over — this helps us plan future improvements and community workshops. This log never includes your device identifier, only the ingredient text itself.

Email address

We do not collect your email address anywhere inside the app itself. If you choose to give feedback through our separate feedback form (a Google Form, linked from the app), you may voluntarily provide your email there — that's entirely optional, and Google's own privacy policy applies to how that form handles your data, separately from this app.

No accounts, no ads, no tracking

Foxy does not require an account or login. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies, and we do not track you across other websites.

Where your data lives

The anonymous, aggregate data described above is stored using Supabase, our backend data provider.

Your choices

Since nothing in the app is linked to your name or email, we're not able to look up or delete "your" data specifically — but you can clear your saved recipes, equipment, and dietary preferences at any time from within the app, or clear your browser's local storage manually to remove everything the app has stored on your device.
